Timeless, opening on October 4th at the Joshua Liner Gallery, features recent work from New York based artist Greg Lamarche. This will be Lamarche’s debut solo show with the Chelsea gallery. The exhibition features a collection of collages, assemblage, and paintings exploring letterforms. Lamarche utilizes the Cruse scanner at Laumont to digitize his handcrafted work.
With roots grounded in graffiti, Lamarche transformed his street style into the current aesthetic seen at Joshua Liner. Arrested Motion conducted a studio visit with Lamarche, providing a short interview accompanied by images of his process.
Graffiti made me look at letters and think about them in a totally different way. Color, composition, movement, layering and repetition all play huge parts to developing letters and the creative possibilities are endless.
Greg Lamarche’s Timeless will be on view at the Joshua Liner Gallery from October 4th through October 27th 2012. The opening reception will take place on Thursday October 4th from 6 to 9pm.
Joshua Liner Gallery is located on the 3rd Floor at 548 West 28th Street New York, NY 10001
