Sante D’Orazio : “Other Graces” at Christie’s in New York

Sante D'Orazio, Jeff Koons, 2007

On view from March 29th through April 19th in Christie’s Private Sales Gallery at Rockefeller Center, is a collection of photographs by Sante D’OrazioOther Graces is a photographic survey spanning the last three decades of the artist’s photographic career.

Christie’s will exhibit D’Orazio’s infamous fashion photographs alongside two of his lesser-known series.  Priests, which has yet to be shown in the United States, depicts today’s most important artists as “high Priests of Modern Art”.  Artists photographed for this series include Ed Ruscha, Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, George Condo and Maurizio Cattelan.  In his newest series Green Door, D’Orazio splices together and hand-paints erotic film footage from the 1970s to create a newly abstracted image.  For more information about the exhibition, read Christie’s press release.

For nearly the past 10 years, Mr. D’Orazio has worked with multiple departments at Laumont to complete the production of his images.  We are proud to announce our involvement with printing, mounting and framing his entire presentation at Christie’s.  The photographs on display will be available in editions of three.
