Letha Wilson: Stones Throw at GRIMM Gallery

Letha Wilson‘s newest solo show titled Stone’s Throw opens tonight at GRIMM Gallery in NYC.

Letha provides her own industrial materials such as thin steel, aluminum and copper pre cut in unique shapes for Laumont’s UV Printing department to print directly to.

Post printing, Letha bends, folds, and pierces holes into the 2D shapes to create organic physical sculptures that invite the viewer to move around and view the now 3D objects from many different angles.

Drawing inspiration from landscapes across America’s West, Letha focuses on textures such as tree bark, sand and rock layers on a macro level rather than expansive landscape images. Many of the prints turned sculptures, are embedded within open spaces in the gallery walls and the support column encouraging the relationship between the artwork and the gallery space it occupies.

Go see for yourself and experience Stone’s Throw – on view until May 2nd.
