Stephen Shore: Early Work at 303 Gallery

Stephen Shore: Early Work, features a selection of images from Shore’s teenage years between 1960 – 1965, coinciding with his newly released book, “Early Work”, published by MACK. The largely unpublished works offer a distinct account of early 1960’s New York streets.

These images helped lay the foundation for Shore’s later and iconic series: American Surfaces and Uncommon Places.

These selected images, on display at 303 Gallery beginning November 5th through December 20th, are digitally exposed black and white silver gelatin prints, in which they are processed in archival chemicals and toned. Pictured above is one of Laumont’s master printers toning the print with selenium to deepen the blacks while improving the archival stability.

The prints were then matted with acid free museum board and custom framed in black maple frames with museum glass all at Laumont.

Pre-order a copy of Stephen Shore’s new book titled “Early Work” and see the entire collection of unseen photographs created during the photographer’s early teenage years.
