Laumont’s own master printer Shamus Clisset unveils his techno/absurd digital creations in two upcoming shows.

Should you happen to find yourself in Brooklyn this weekend for Bushwick Open Studios, be sure to stop by Storefront Ten Eyck.  Located at 324 Ten Eyck Street, a solo exhibition of 6 large format digital compositions by Shamus Clisset will be on display this weekend.

“Shamus Clisset’s images are completely digital fabrications. His works are composed not in two-dimensional photoshopped or painterly space, but as fully 3-D virtual environments, inhabited by characters and objects simultaneously terrifying and hilarious. Using physically-based raytracing software, the artist produces hyper-real vignettes that delve into his own obsessions and personal history with an acute sense of the absurdity of our futuristic modern world.” – an excerpt from the Storefront press release.

In addition to this weekend’s exhibition, Clisset has a couple of c-prints featured in Shoot, a 5-person show of emerging artists at Lesley Heller Workspace.  Opening on June 5th, the work will remain on view at the Lower East Side gallery until July 3, 2013.

Clisset’s work evokes humor while retaining sophistication through the skillful rendering of his otherworldly compositions.  His images are printed and mounted at Laumont, where he happens to be a sought after master printer in the chromogenic, B+W, and inkjet departments.  Over the years, he has collaborated on a multitude of important exhibitions here and abroad.  Much deserved congratulations to a master artist on the occasion of these two exhibitions of his original and exciting work.
