Inspiring excellent reviews, Gottlieb’s work visually captures observations of the vagarious Atlantic waters off the coast of Rockaway Beach, Queens, NY which evidence her 16 years of rumination regarding the sea as a photographic subject.

“Color has always been an integral part of my images, enabling me to create a minimal interpretation of the vast sea and sky before us; and then printing in large sizes to achieve full impact. […] A study in black and white […] transforms an image into something more conceptual, deconstructing a scene and reducing it to its forms and tones.”  -Sandra Gottlieb,                             ->More from the Artist’s Statement

Another selection of Sandra Gottlieb’s work, which includes her beautiful color photography, is showing in an overlapping but independent exhibition called “Images of the Sea”, which just opened on June 1st at Bego Ezair Gallery, NYC; this exhibition will run until June 30th.
